Development Project (SDP)
Skills Development Project (SDP) is implemented by the Directorate of Technical Education, Ministry
of Education of People's Republic of Bangladesh. The SDP is jointly funded by Asian Development Bank,
Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and the Government of Bangladesh.
The primary objective of the Project is to support the Government�s poverty reduction strategy by
enhancing the capacity of the TVET system to provide demand-driven and good quality technical education
and training particularly to the poor and the marginalized. To enhance the relevance of TVET, the Project
supports the establishment of partnerships with industry; development of competency and training standards;
development of curricula, teacher guides, learning materials and assessment tools; and capacity development
in external competency assessment.
With a view to improving the capacity to deliver good quality training programs, the Project assists in providing
in-service training to government and nongovernment TVET teachers; revitalizing two public TVET teacher training
institutions; strengthening the capacity for short training programs in selected public and private training institutions;
and strengthening the capacity of the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) for planning, research, and social marketing.
To increase the delivery of relevant skills training, the Project supports the delivery of skills training
(market-responsive skills training) needed in the labor market, and the delivery of skills training in poor communities.

A meeting was held on 23 August 2014 at BGMEA office, Chittagong regarding expansion of Woven Garments Training at TTC's and job placement of trained trainees. Mr.Kamal Hossain,Additional PD, Skills Development Project and Mr. Reaz Bin Mahmood, Vice President,BGMEA were present there.
1. SDP has awarded Notification of Award to Flora Ltd for Lot 1 of Package GDE-TSC-30 (Laptops and equipment) and Unique Business Ltd for Lot 2 of the same package (Multimedia projector and screen).
